As part of the Chinese New Year festivities, a "lantern festival" was held this past weekend in Auckland. A personal highlight was staying in the Hyatt, with a bathtub (showers only at our place in Waiheke). The lanterns were spectacular, and it was a great festival. Alexander loved the rides (some people come to New Zealand for bungy jumping or white-water rafting: we ride in teacups and pirate ships), food and balloons.
